Success Story Learning Intelligence and Success
When Dennis came to Mr. Tzivanakis, he was about to take his final school exams, but inwardly he was anything but ready. He was often tense, easily overwhelmed, and before exams he would completely freeze up. Even though he studied, he still felt like he hadn’t truly understood anything. He couldn’t get to the heart of the material and kept getting lost in the details. It was as if he lacked an internal compass. As his mother, I could sense that this wasn’t just about schoolwork – it was something deeper: a lack of inner structure, a missing connection to himself and to what he was actually trying to do.
After completing the three-day Personal Achievement Program with Mr. Tzivanakis, everything changed. I still remember the evening after the third day – Dennis came home calm, clear, and somehow centered within himself. It wasn’t a dramatic “aha” moment in the usual sense, but rather a quiet shift in how he spoke, how he thought, and how he understood himself. He suddenly began explaining things from his school subjects to me – not superficially, but in a way that made me realize: he had understood the essence. He could grasp the core ideas, make meaningful connections, and see what things were really about – not just in one subject, but across them. I don’t know exactly how Mr. Tzivanakis did it, but for the first time, Dennis felt like he was truly capable of handling the material. And from that understanding came confidence.
What moved me most as a mother was his new attitude. Suddenly, he had trust – not just in the content or in passing a test, but in himself. This inner order that emerged began to show in his daily life as well: he started structuring his own schedule, organizing his learning plan, and no longer putting things off. More importantly, he developed a sense that what he was doing actually meant something. That he could follow his own path – not because someone expected it of him, but because he wanted to. His motivation came from within, as if someone had uncovered a source that had long been buried.
He passed the final school exams – with good to excellent grades. But honestly, that almost felt secondary. What mattered more was that he did it with confidence. No panic, no collapse – just a clear mind and a steady stance. Today, Dennis is 19 years old and in his first year of university – and he’s doing very well there, too. Of course, there are challenges, like for any young person, but I can see: he now has tools he can rely on – and a sense of where he wants to go. He knows how to handle pressure, how to regenerate from within, and how to regain his focus when things get off track. I see a young man who doesn’t just function, but who is truly connected to what he’s doing. And that is a gift I am deeply grateful for.
And perhaps a few words from Dennis himself to end:
“For a long time, I thought I was just one of those people who fails at exams. But that’s not true. I just never learned how to think and learn in a way that works for me. With Ioannis, I finally understood. And suddenly everything made sense. Now I know I can learn anything I want. I can walk my own path.”
